Carved by hand in Norway Since 1947
The traditional Lucia figure was first designed by Henning Engelsen in 1961, and has since been seen on countless Christmas tables. Lucia comes in two sizes (12 centimeters and 18 centimeters) and two colors (red and white). All Lucia figures come with brass cuff and brass holder.
The tradition of handmade Christmas cribs goes back a long way. From the late Middle Ages it has spread widely from the Mediterranean and northwards. Despite a long-standing tradition of cutting wood, the Christmas cribs have been less prevalent in the Nordic countries. We tried to keep this idea in mind when we started work on our Christmas manger in 1999. Both in designing the figures individually and in the color composition we have wanted to create a Christmas manger linked to the woodcarving traditions from the surroundings it has become.
